Hi I’m AJ – short for Anjuli, with Rain being my middle name. For over a decade, I’ve been
capturing people, places, and moments that inspire, always with curiosity, care, and a little
bit of magic. This life-long journey into the medium of visuals, has allowed me to embrace my
multi-passionate nature, whilst providing bespoke visual services across multiple disciplines
including events, portraits, travel, and branding.
With a camera (or two) in hand, a drone in the sky- with a license to fly, I’ve had the pleasure
of working in London, across the UK, and internationally, collaborating with wonderful
people, brands, and communities. I enjoy naturally connecting with those I photograph from
the get-go - to me that is the most important step in creating lasting images that spark joy,
celebrate life, tell a story, and hold treasured memories forever. Everything I do professionally
is grounded by many years of studio experience. I trust my intuition, as well as the surrounding
environment, to shape each moment.
“ Only shoot what you love. ”
— Tim Walker.
I live by this simple philosophy; only shoot what you love. In other words, shoot
what moves you.
Luckily for me, and perhaps for you, I happen to love a lot of things
I love the joy exchanged between loved ones celebrating, I love the stillness
of a lake, I love the authoritative power of styling and dressing based on
mood, I love the electricity of a take-off, I love a city at night and those
minutes just before the sun sets, and I simply love being immersed and
surrounded by LOVE, which means I love LIFE (I also love to laugh too how
cliché of me)
I also love that there is duality within existence, and embracing the fact that
life isn’t always aesthetically pleasing, or meaningful, sometimes it just IS, and I
love finding the balance within the limitless joys of being a human, along with
the grounded discipline it takes to bring something meaningful to the world.
I was raised on road trips, retreats and festival fields.
My parents were both student nurses and free-spirts when they had me in
their early 20s. They spent every spare penny taking my younger sister and I
on journeys that stretched our imaginations and worldview. Those early years
were a kaleidoscope of travel, camping, and connecting with our inherited
culture(s)
Hundreds, if not thousands, of 50mm photographs were captured by my dad
along the way. Later, they were carefully placed into thick, well-loved photo
albums that we would sit and look at for hours. I still return to them now where
I can easily tune in, and gain joyful insights from my inner child, who still carries
me through life. Those images are more than just paper to me. They are proof
of love. Of presence. Of a life fully felt, and mostly, seen.
With a British father and a Malaysian mother of mixed Punjabi and Chinese
heritage, I grew up woven between cultures. That duality lives inside
everything I choose to create and do. Though I was born and raised in the
UK, I carry my ancestry with deep pride, continuing to explore and reconnect
with those roots both through family and through the wider creative world.
Later when my parents separated, photography became my anchor. As a
young adult navigating domestic instability and cultural ambiguity, I found
refuge behind the lens. It gave me a way to shape reality when it felt
overwhelming. It offered me control, imagination and space to breathe.
After graduating from university with a first-class degree in photography, I
shot my first paid job at a school prom. It felt amazing. The thing that had
once been my escape had now become my independence. My livelihood.
My future.
By 23, I was working full time in a luxury north London studio, specialising in
women’s portraiture, boudoir and personal branding. Over those years, I
began to understand something deeper... A portrait shoot is never just about
the images. It’s about safety, trust, and the unseen emotional atmosphere
that allows someone to soften into themselves.
Since then and over the last four or so years, my work has expanded into high
end weddings in London, where I was thrilled to have some images appear in
Harper’s Bazaar Arabia. I‘ve also shot corporate commissions and everything
from yoga retreats to solar farms, property and even on-set work within the
film industry. Yet through every chapter, one truth remains…
Photography has been the longest companion of my life.
It has been my witness on the road to self-actualisation
I hold that responsibility with recognition and grace, every time I pick up the
camera and document the lives of others.

So on that note, if you’ve made it this far, let’s talk about what I can do for
you.
I offer photography and bespoke videography, across multiple disciplines, all
guided by the same principles: high-end service and authentic creation.
Here’s what I do:
if any of this resonates, let’s create something unforgettable together!

“AJ is an absolute star, we were so lucky to have her capture our Nikah wedding ceremony from start to finish. Because of her Andy and I will have such amazing photos to keep and remind us of the most beautiful and special day for us. She made it so easy for us and we can’t thank her enough.”
“AJ is one of the best photographers I've worked with. She's taken many portraits for me over the years and has excellent attention to detail, great at posing (for someone who never knows how to do it right) with an emphasis on quality and making the shoot fun. She's also incredibly reassuring to be around and makes you feel comfortable from the get-go. I recommend her highly.”
“AJ took some pictures for my small beauty business. AJ was so helpful and professional and I absolutely loved my pictures! I felt like she really listened to what I wanted and I couldn't recommend her enough.”
